The Opponent
No. 6 Oklahoma comes into Saturday with a 23-6 overall record and 11-6 mark in league play after defeating Baylor, 73-71. Against the Bears, All-America candidate Buddy Hield led the way, scoring 23 points on 8-of-19 from the field. Ryan Spangler followed, tallying 15 points and 13 boards.

On the season, Hield is averaging 25.3 points per game and is shooting 49 percent from the field. Isaiah Cousins is also in double-figures, totaling 13.1 points a game and 4.5 assists a contest.

The Series
Oklahoma leads the all-time series, 17-2, but TCU did capture a 70-67 victory over the Sooners at home in 2013. The Frogs’ only other win in the series came in a 95-82 decision in Oklahoma City during the 1986-87 campaign.

One Last time
Senior Devonta Abron will play his final game inside Schollmaier Arena Saturday. The 6-foot-8 forward, who will graduate this May with a degree in sociology and a minor in social work, will leave TCU having scored in double-figures in 20 games in his career, including twice this season. Abron has battled injuries during his career, but will close his time in Fort Worth, scoring over 600 points in his career and grabbing nearly 500 rebounds.

A Look Back
TCU will host Oklahoma on senior day for the third time in four years under head coach Trent Johnson. In the Horned Frogs lone victory over OU on senior day, now senior Devonta Abron totaled four points and six boards in a 70-67 upset in 2013.

Trent Honored By Big 12 Conference
Sophomore Malique Trent was named Phillips 66 Big 12 Men’s Basketball Newcomer of the Week Monday. Trent, who was the highest scoring newcomer in the conference last week at 20 points per game, set career-highs in points (25) and free throws made (11) and attempted (13).

He shot 45.8 percent from the field for the week, including 4-of-9 (.444) from 3-point range. He also made 14-of-16 (.875) from the charity stripe, while adding five rebounds and five steals.

Duo Down The Stretch
Chauncey Collins and Malique Trent have begun to score the ball at a high percentage as of late. In the last three games, the duo has combined to score over 50 percent of TCU’s total points against Texas Tech, Baylor and K-State. When broken down, Collins and Trent have accounted for 104 of the Purple and White’s 204 total points.

Offensive Glass Explosion
Since entering the starting lineup against Iowa State, JD Miller made his presence known in three-straight starts, averaging 11.3 points per game and 6.7 boards. He also shot 45 percent (13-of-29) from the field in the three starts.

What is even more impressive though is that Miller totaled 14 boards on the offensive end in the three contests. In the last three outings where he has started, Miller is averaging 4.7 offensive boards.

Malique Trent tallied four steals versus No. 19 Baylor and K-State, marking now the 10th time this season the sophomore has stole the rock three or more times in a game. Trent ranks No. 1 in the Big 12 Conference overall in steals and No. 32 in the NCAA. During league play, the sophomore is currently first overall, averaging 2.21 per contest.

Playing Ranked Foes
When TCU takes on No. 6 Oklahoma Saturday, the Frogs will battle their 12th opponent either ranked or receiving votes in their last 18 games. TCU has played a total of seven ranked teams in this week’s AP top-25, including three in the top-15.

Collins Stepping Up
Chauncey Collins, who had 17 versus No. 19 Baylor and a career-high 29 at Texas Tech, has begun to make his mark as of late, scoring the basketball from all over the court. The sophomore, who has scored in double-figures in 13 out of the 18 league games, which includes games of 20 twice versus West Virginia and 19 against Texas Tech at home, has hit three or more three’s in nine out of the 17 games.

In the nine games against league foes ranked in the top-25, Collins is averaging 14.2 points per game and 2.6 assists per contest. He is also shooting 47 percent from behind the arc in the nine outings.

One Game At A Time
Heading into Saturday, TCU has only had three players see action in all 30 games this season in Vladimir Brodziansky, JD Miller andBrandon Parrish. When broken down even further, Parrish is the only Frog to have started all 30 games. The junior led the Purple and White with 13 points against Kansas and then 15 versus Oklahoma State. He also had 19 at Texas Tech.

Next Man Up
Against K-State, TCU only dressed nine student-athletes as Devonta Abron and Michael Williams, along with returning starter Kenrich Williams, all sat out the contest. In all, the Horned Frogs have had eight players miss games this season due to injury or other factors in Abron, Shepherd, Chauncey Collins, Dalton Dry, Malique Trent, Chris Washburn, M.
