FORT WORTH – No. 7 TCU opens an eight game homestand on Tuesday night when it hosts UT Rio Grande Valley. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m. and it will be televised on FOX College Sports.

TCU NOTABLES
• TCU swept its way through the Shriner’s Hospital for Children College Classic, defeating three ranked teams to push its winning streak to six games.
• TCU outscored its opponents 27-2 in the three games. The Frogs scored 44 runs last week.
• TCU picked up its third shutout of the season, upping its shutout total to 27 games since the start of the 2014 season, a mark that is tops in the NCAA.
• TCU leads the Big 12 in hitting with a .328 average and a 1.03 ERA.
• The TCU bullpen has yet to surrender an earned run in 24 2/3 innings pitched this season.
• TCU was a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen bases over the weekend. The 12 total stolen bases is tied for tops in the Big 12.
• Luken Baker, Brian Howard and Dane Steinhagen each earned a spot on the All-Classic team.
• Dane Steinhagen and Josh Watson each tallied their first career home runs.
• Elliott Barzilli and Luken Baker have reached base safely in all seven games this season.

• UT Rio Grande Valley has gotten off to a 3-5 start which includes an 0-4 record away from home.
• After starting the season 0-4, the Vandals have was three of their last four, defeating Prairie View A&M twice as well as Washington State.
• Offensively, the Vandals are hitting just .217 as a team and are averaging 4.7 runs per game.
• Scott Mercer is the team’s leading hitter with a .348 batting average and seven RBIs.
• Jose Garcia tops the team with four of their 12 total stolen bases.
• On the mound, the group has posted a 4.10 ERA. They have issued 31 walks and fanned 59 batters.
• Andrew Pardon has tallied the Vandals’ lone save. He has made a team-high five appearances out of the bullpen.
• Defensively, the Vandals have committed 11 errors for a team fielding percentage of .964.

HOME NOTABLES
• TCU will play 30 home games during the 2016 regular season.
• Under the guidance of Jim Schlossnagle, TCU is 292-96 in games played at Lupton Stadium.
• TCU is 63-13 at Lupton Stadium over the last 2+ seasons, including a school-record 33 wins in 2015.

• TCU and UT Rio Grande Valley (formerly UT Pan American) will be meeting for the 61st time.

POWER SURGE
Over the weekend, TCU put on a power show at Minute Maid Park. The Horned Frogs collected 11 extra base hits, including seven doubles and four home runs.

On the year, TCU has 24 extra base hits this season, accounting for 30% of the total hits. The Frogs have tallied 14 doubles, four triples and six home runs.

TCU has six home runs in its first seven games of the year. TCU didn’t hit its sixth home run unit game No. 16 in 2015. The six home runs are the second-most in the Big 12 this season.

TCU enters Tuesday night’s game having hit a home run in five straight games.

A LOOK BACK
For the first time in six tries at the College Classic hosted by the Astros, TCU came away with a 3-0 record.

TCU did so in dominate fashion outscoring opponents 27-2. Josh Watson and Cam Warner led all Horned Frogs with five RBIs, whileElliott Barzilli (.455) and Luken Baker (.444) led the team in average.

Dane Steinhagen and Watson each connected on their first career home runs.

COMING IN BUNCHES
TCU has scored a run in 20 of the 61 innings played this season. The Frogs have scored multiple runs in 13 of those 20 innings.

The Horned Frogs best frame this season has been the sixth inning. Sixteen of TCU’s 53 runs have been scored in that frame. TCU has also put up double-digit run totals in the third (11) and the eighth (10).

TCU has yet to score a run in the seventh and ninth innings.

LOCKING IT DOWN
TCU’s bullpen, full of new faces in 2016, has been dynamic through the first seven games of the season.

The group of 10 has yet to surrender an earned run in 24 2/3 innings pitched. They have given up two unearned runs on seven hits, walked 10 and struck out 24.

Ryan Burnett has made a team-high four appearances, while Jared Janczak has tossed the most innings at 5 1/3. Brian Trieglaff has converted the lone save attempt of the year.
