Virginia too much for TCU in men’s tennis showdown
Top-ranked Virginia beat No. 2 TCU 4-1 on Sunday in the semifinals of the men’s ITA National Team Indoor Championship in Charlottesville, Va.
The Cavaliers (8-0) claimed the doubles point before taking two quick singles wins to go up 3-0 in the match.
The lone point for TCU (5-2) came at No. 1 singles from Cameron Norrie, ranked sixth nationally. He claimed his eighth victory over a ranked foe with a 7-5, 7-5 win over No. 27 Ryan Shane.
“It is disappointing to put yourself in a spot like this and not play up to your abilities,†TCU coach David Roditi said.
