FWST: Forecasting the football future for Cowboys, Frogs, ’Horns, Aggies and Bears

After watching the 20th consecutive Super Bowl game without the Dallas Cowboys it’s time to ask the annual question “Well, are they close?”

By being in the NFL, yes, the Cowboys are closer to a Super Bowl title than, say, the Cleveland Browns.

By using the Broncos and Panthers as the new standard, no, the Cowboys are not close. Throw Seattle and New England into the mix as well, and the answer is still no.

If it makes you feel any better, Vegas still hearts the Cowboys. The early odds to win Super Bowl LI are in, and Jerry’s toy is a 16-1 favorite. …
