WFAA: TCU-Arkansas gives old school fans a taste of the Southwest Conference past

Most of the current players are too young to know — “I wasn’t. I’m not. I have no idea,” wide receiver Desmon White says.
And Gary Patterson is too focused to care — “I haven’t been to a tailgate in 34 years, and I haven’t been to one of those golf tournaments on Friday before a ballgame, either.”
But the reality is — with TCU playing Arkansas this weekend — for a certain generation of fans, this game has Southwest Conference written all over it.
“Played each other every year from like 1930 thru ’91,” TCU alum John Denton recalled Tuesday.
