Gridiron Now: TCU’s Gary Patterson concerned by physical Razorbacks
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Following his usual Monday routine, TCU coach Gary Patterson talked about his team’s game with Arkansas this weekend in Fort Worth during his weekly teleconference.
When asked about how his defense did on Saturday against South Dakota State, Patterson didn’t hold back.
“We didn’t tackle very well. As we get a lot of times, we got a different game plan than what we worked on. To be honest with you, I did a poor job of getting them ready to play,†Patterson said. “We didn’t tackle very well, and schematically we didn’t do a very good job of lining up to what they did.â€
That’s not an exaggeration by Patterson. TCU gave up 461 yards and five touchdowns to FCS member South Dakota State, which should make most Arkansas fans feel like they have a chance on the road this weekend. To that end, Patterson acknowledged the firepower of Arkansas on offense when speaking to his defense’s misalignment against South Dakota State.
