Gridiron Now: Austin Allen overcomes adversity to help Arkansas avoid upset scare
Fayetteville, Ark. – Austin Allen’s debut as Arkansas’ starting quarterback may not have been what he envisioned, but it was his ability to fight through adversity that led to the Razorbacks’ narrow 21-20 win over Louisiana Tech on Saturday.
“Austin Allen’s numbers were fairly good except for obviously the two turnovers,†Bielema said. “Very first turnover, I think (he was) just trying to force something in on third down, make something happen, but the second one had a route breakdown with one of our more experienced receivers and caused that situation to come about.â€
Said Allen, “We’ve got to get better. We played a heck of a team out there. Their offense was solid and they knew what they were doing and they were a sound defense. We have just got to get better.â€
