FWST: Timberview star, TCU signee help lead U.S. U18 team to gold
Baylor signee Lauren Cox of Flower Mound scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds, leading the United States to a resounding 109-62 victory over Canada to win the FIBA Americas under-18 Championship in Valdiva, Chile, on Sunday night.
Chennedy Carter of Mansfield Timberview scored 11 points and TCU signee Amber Ramirez of San Antonio added 10.
Carter also had five assists and a steal. Ramirez was 4-of-7 shooting. Tyasha Harris led the U.S. with 18 points.
Skoug hits slam
TCU catcher Evan Skoug hit a grand slam in the sixth inning during Team USA’s 5-4 loss to Japan in Shizuoka, Japan, on Sunday.
