Within days of being hailed as one of the nation’s top college football teams in one set of post-spring football power ratings, TCU has been omitted from the updated Top 25 list posted Tuesday night by ESPN.com.

The site’s latest rankings, prepared by ESPN senior writer Mark Schlabach, had TCU, Florida and Boise State falling out of the Top 25 based on evidence gleaned from spring practices. Taking the place of those schools in Schlabach’s updated rankings were Texas A&M (No. 21), Miami (No. 24) and Louisville (No. 25).

The timing of the update is interesting because the item followed a Monday post by Stewart Mandel of FoxSports.com that placed TCU at No. 6 in his set of post-spring football rankings, the highest placement of any Big 12 school. TCU finished 11-2 last season and No. 7 in the Associated Press’ postseason poll.
