GoFrogs: Horton Earns Big 12 Weekly Honor

FORT WORTH – TCU freshman pitcher Dalton Horton has been named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for his efforts Saturday at Kansas. The honor is the first of his career and the third for TCU this season.

Making just his second start of the season on the weekend, Horton pitched a career-high seven innings in leading TCU to a victory at Kansas on Saturday. He allowed just five hits, walked two and struck out a pair to improve to 5-0 on the season. Against the Jayhawks, Horton never faced more than four batters in an inning. Only one batter reached third base and just one other made it as far as second. The freshman induced a pair of double play balls in the win. Dating back to his last start, Horton has pitched 9 1/3 consecutive scoreless innings.

Luken Baker has twice been honored by the league, earning Newcomer of the Week accolades on Feb. 22 and March 7.
