FWST: TCU turns to another freshman pitcher to start: Sean Wymer

Right-hander Sean Wymer will start Wednesday night for No. 9 TCU against UT Arlington, becoming the fourth freshman to start a game for coach Jim Schlossnagle this season.

“I want to see him go through the routine of a start,” Schlossnagle said. “I won’t leave him out there very long, I just want to give him a chance.”

Wymer, of Flower Mound, has made five scoreless relief appearances covering eight innings, striking out 11 and walking three. He has allowed one hit.

Freshman left-hander Dalton Horton made his first weekend start Sunday at Wichita State and went six innings, allowing a run on two hits. He had made four weekday starts. …
