DMN: Trent Johnson’s firing was perfectly predictable

What happened Monday morning at TCU was perfectly predictable.
The men’s basketball expectations have changed now for the Horned Frogs. The results haven’t yet. And when you invest $72 million to renovate your basketball arena, you really want to see something good happen on the court.
So Trent Johnson was officially shown the door after four seasons and eight Big 12 wins. TCU athletic director Chris Del Conte said all the right things about Johnson in a statement.
“However, we believe change is needed in the leadership of our men’s basketball program,” Del Conte said. “With our new facility and playing in the Big 12, the strongest basketball conference in the country, we’re positioned well to have a men’s basketball program that makes TCU and Fort Worth proud.” …
