Horned Frogs Maintain Lead at Clover Cup
MESA, Ariz. — Freshmen Annika Clark and Brooke Graebe carded even-par 72s to help TCU maintain its lead after Saturday’s second round of the Notre Dame Clover Cup.
The Horned Frogs shot an 8-over 292 Saturday and are at even-par 576 through 36 holes. TCU is one stroke ahead of SMU.
“The girls competed with a lot of heart today,” TCU head women’s golf coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin said. “Conditions were tougher, and they showed they are a championship team!”
Graebe is tied for second individually at 5-under 139, just one shot behind leader Annette Lyche of UNC Wilmington. Graebe had four birdies Saturday.
Clark is seventh individually at 1-under 143. She had a birdie and recorded par on 16 holes.
TCU junior Alex Sborov is tied for 12th at 146. She posted her second straight career-low 73 with three birdies in a five-hole stretch on the back nine.
Emmy Martin contributed a 75 for TCU and is tied for 17th individually. She closed the front nine with back-to-back birdies and had four on the day, including three in a four-hole stretch.
