Frogs add OL to stacked class
TCU got its 19th commitment this week and it’s a big one, literally. Ian Burnette is a 6’3.5” 300 lb. OL who projects to play guard for the Frogs. He has been a 3x All District selection, and his junior year was selected to First Team All Cen-Tex and First Team All-State out of Wimberly High School. When you watch Ian’s film you can see what TCU fell in love with. The kid is aggressive and he has a nasty streak to him (which in my book is a requirement in the trenches). I could go on and on but rather than me doing that just watch the film below and see for yourself.

Marcel Brooks Jumps Over a Car
Marcel Brooks, 2019 LB …. I think Bo Jackson use to jump Volkswagens when he was goofing around on a hot summer afternoon. @MarcelBrooks_5 pic.twitter.com/w5vDnCpHeV

Coach P showed up to Marcel’s game in a helicopter last week and seemed to make a big impression on the kid. He is a freak athlete and would be a huge get for the Frogs in the class of 2019. At 6’3” 200 lbs., the junior OLB seems like an ideal fit for a very versatile Gary Patterson defense.
Stats to Know:
Western Virginia QB, Will Grier, led the nation in deep passing yards (targeted 20-plus yards downfield) before the bye week with 649 yards. Out of his 144 passing attempts this year 43 of them were deep passes, which account for nearly 30% of his passing attempts. The 43 deep attempts are also the most in the country this year and have paid off as Grier has thrown 6 touchdowns this season on the deep pass.
Matchup of the Week:
Gary Jennings and David Sills V vs TCU secondary
Gary Jennings and David Sills V have become Will Grier’s top targets this season as they have combined for 55 catches so far in 2017. Jennings moves the chains and can make a lot happen in space. Sills is Will Grier’s favorite red zone target as he has 7 TD catches in the first 4 weeks. With Grier’s gunslinger attitude and propensity for the deep pass look for the TCU secondary to have opportunities for INT’s on Saturday. While interceptions haven’t been a problem for Grier this season, he hasn’t faced a secondary with playmakers like Nick Orr, Ridwan Issahaku and Ranthony Texada.
TCU and College Gameday:
The Frogs are undefeated when College Gameday is in attendance and look to go 6-0 this week. Here’s how past games have fared:
