FORT WORTH, Texas — The TCU women’s basketball team posted its largest margin of victory under Raegan Pebley, set a school record and grabbed the coach’s 200th career win in an eventful 95-39 win over Alcorn State at Schollmaier Arena on Tuesday night.TCU (8-3) shot a school-record 67.3 percent (35-of-52) from the field in the game and closes nonconference play on a three-game winning streak. The Frogs were even better from 3-point range where they hit 69.2 percent (9-of-13), tying for the fourth best mark in school history.Freshman Mikayla Christian led the Frogs with 19 points off the bench, including 5-of-7 from long range, blowing away her previous career-high of six points. Sophomore Adeola Akomolafe also posted career-highs with 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting and 13 rebounds, giving her the first double-double of her career.Tia Sanders scored 17 points for Alcorn State (0-10), but the rest of the Lady Braves managed just 22 points as TCU held the team to 27 percent (15-of-56) shooting. TCU also dominated on the glass, posting a 47-19 rebounding advantage.The Rundown One game after allowing a season-low seven points in the first quarter, TCU nearly matched that mark as it held Alcorn State to eight and held a 21-8 advantage after 10 minutes.The lead only grew from there as Christian hit two of her 3-pointers in the second quarter to spark a 25-point frame for the Frogs. Austin. – TCU shot 86.3 percent (19-of-22) in the second half. – The Frogs’ 56-point win was the largest since a 58-point, 96-38, win over Houston Baptist in 2010-11. – TCU’s 95 points were the second most scored under Pebley, behind only a 97-73 win over UTRGV in last season’s WNIT First Round. – The Frogs hit nine 3-pointers, giving them at least six in every game this season. Okonkwo has scored in double figures seven times in TCU’s 11 games. – Kianna Ray record a career-high eight assists. She also added nine points, four rebounds, four steals and a block. – Jordan Moore recorded a block for the ninth straight game. – Akomolafe made her second start of the season as TCU started three post players for the first time this season with Jordan Moore and Amy Okonkwo joining Akomolafe.
