The Birmingham News: John Carroll set to honor legendary QB Pat Sullivan by naming football field for him
John Carroll on Friday evening will honor Pat Sullivan, its former football star who won the 1971 Heisman Trophy while at Auburn and enjoyed a college coaching career spanning four decades.
John Carroll’s football field will be renamed for its famous alum. The dedication is scheduled for Friday at 6:30 p.m. – immediately before the school’s home football game against Springville.
During halftime, John Carroll will hold a dedication on the field at Pat Sullivan Field with Sullivan and Cavalier football players.
“Our students, our community need to understand what a person like Pat Sullivan means not only to the John Carroll community, but the Birmingham community,” first-year John Carroll football coach Logan Colafrancesco said.
