DMN: Refs weren’t the only ones struggling to get it together in TCU-Oklahoma game

FORT WORTH — On the pivotal intentional grounding call against TCU late in the fourth quarter when it took the officials not once, not twice but three times to get it straight, Bob Stoops swears he didn’t talk anyone into anything in order to preserve Oklahoma’s wild 52-46 win over the 19th-ranked Horned Frogs.

First there was no flag on Kenny Hill’s throw into no-man’s land, and Stoops looked like Usain Bolt going down the sideline. Then, when the refs ruled no penalty, saying Hill was out of the pocket, you could have read Stoops’ lips in Mansfield.

“Fortunately they talked that through, too,” the Oklahoma coach said. “I believe they really got it right.”
