Norman Transcript: Sooners defensive starters Dimon, Evans ruled out for TCU game

Oklahoma will open the Big 12 Conference slate without two defensive starters. OU coach Bob Stoops said defensive end Matt Dimon and inside linebacker Tay Evans will both miss Saturday’s game at TCU due to injury.
“Some of the others are still working through some things but guys like [safety] Steven [Parker], who has been in all week, [linebacker] Jordan [Evans] has been in all week. They’ve been practicing.”
One of the reasons Stoops gave his team an extra day off last week was because it was beaten up in the Ohio State game. Dimon and Tay Evans both suffered their injuries in that game.
Stoops said defensive tackle Matt Romar, who missed the Ohio State game with an undisclosed injury, is expected to play against the Horned Frogs.
