Daily Oklahoman: Samaje Perine turns up power in practice

NORMAN — Running back Samaje Perine is pretty good at plowing through guys on the field, but most of the time, those guys are defensive players on the opposing team.
But this week, Perine’s been practicing with a fire and intensity usually reserved for Saturdays, quarterback Baker Mayfield said.
“The way he’s been practicing has been good to see,” Mayfield said. “He’s practicing really hard. He ran some people over today.
Usually you don’t want your starting running back, one of your starting running backs to go in on full contact, but he’s running hard right now. People feed off that. That was good to see.”
