DMN: OU president David Boren: Big 12 expansion not ‘a given’

Two months after the Big 12 announced it would actively evaluate interest from outside schools, Oklahoma president David Boren said it’s not a guarantee the conference will end up expanding.
“I’m not saying there won’t be expansion,” Boren told reporters at OU’s Board of Regents meeting Wednesday. “But I’m not saying it can be automatically assumed that there will be expansion.”
Furthermore, Boren, who also serves as the chairman of the Big 12’s board of directors, said he wasn’t certain there would be a league vote at the board’s Oct. 17 meeting.
