
DMN: Patterson won’t let TCU be distracted by others’ narratives

TCU head coach Gary Patterson and linebacker Sammy Douglas spoke to the media Tuesday in preview of the Frogs’ matchup against Iowa State on Saturday. Here’s the five things you need to know from Tuesday’s presser.
Patterson’s not concerned about media chatter surrounding the Frogs.
Kenny Hill’s penalty for throat-slashing – since disputed by Patterson – earned the ire of many in the national media, and TCU dropped out of both national polls.
Patterson, however, isn’t paying much attention to the media — and he’s derived motivation from what he has heard. “I’m fired up we’re not in the top 20,” Patterson said. “We’ve still got three top recruits coming in this weekend.”
As far as Hill goes, Patterson defended his quarterback on Tuesday. “Here’s the thing, I have a disk in my office — you can have it. He did it twice in the South Dakota State game, and he did it once in the [Arkansas] game before he did that [earned the flag].”
