FWST: Iowa State coach wary of TCU’s team speed in Big 12 opener

Iowa State football coach Matt Campbell has lots of concerns heading into Saturday’s game against TCU (1-1) that will mark the Big 12 opener for both schools.

Not only are the Cyclones (0-2) at the bottom of the Big 12 statistical rankings in total offense (299 yards per game) and scoring offense (11.5 avg.), but they face a significant shortage in speed heading into Saturday’s showdown in Amon G. Carter Stadium (11 a.m., FS1).

“I think the biggest thing for us is their speed on both sides of the football,” Campbell said during Monday’s teleconference with Big 12 coaches. “Their ability to run and make plays is impressive. Their special teams, in particular, have been outstanding.”
