FORT WORTH – Brittany Little’s header in the 76th minute broke a scoreless tie and stood up as the game-winner as TCU remained undefeated with a 1-0 win over Oral Roberts. TCU has now matched its best start in school history.
The Rundown
The goalkeeper tandem of Courtney Hofer and Katie Lund put up a wall in goal, stopping all six shots that came their way. Each stopped three shots in their half of work. For the most part, the shots came from distance as the back line of Ryan Williams, Cachet Lue, Lauren Sajewich and Courtney Forte did a good job of letting the keepers see the ball.
The first half was a tale of almosts for the Horned Frogs as they had numerous good looks on goal, but couldn’t solve the Golden Eagles Ryliegh Bohnenstiehl. She made three diving stops early in the half to frustrate Frog shooters.
TCU continued to get looks in the second half and finally hit paydirt in the 76th minute. ORU was whistled for a foul just to the left of the goal. Kayla Hill made a perfect crossing feed, finding the head of Little. Her shot was on target as it snuck past the leaping keeper on the near side for a 1-0 lead.
Oral Roberts pushed to get the equalizer, but the Frogs allowed just two shots. Lund made the lone stop she needed to on a ball fired in from the top of the penalty box.

“It seems that we are doing things right, I hope. But it’s more of a testament to where we’ve come from to where we are now and the hard work and dedication the staff and players have put into the program. Winning in college soccer isn’t easy. We are figuring out a way to do it. I’m happy with where we are.â€

“Sunday’s are always going to be a grind. After playing 110 minutes on Friday, we as a staff knew that it was going to be a hard game. I thought we came out really well and created some goal-scoring opportunities, unfortunately they didn’t go in. Now its equal at the half and we’ve got a dogfight. We had to figure out how to get a win and we did that.â€
