KillerFrogs.com Gameday Preview
by Hunter Nix
TCU keys to victory
* Stop the run – Arkansas is going to want to run the football. Rawleigh Williams is a good young power back at 5-10″ 223 lbs. Won’t run past you but runs very tough. Could present problems for our undersized backers. Our Dline will have to keep the big boys off of our undersized LBs.
* Win the turnover battle – Kenny Hill probably had some nerves coming into his first live game situation since transferring from A&M. He threw two picks in the first half last week but that can’t be the case this game. I think TCU can score with the best of them but getting behind and letting Arkansas hold the ball is in their best interest. They will want to slow the game down and turnovers will play right into their game plan. If TCU gets ahead early, the Hogs will throw it around. TE Jeremy Sprinkle and WR Keon Hatcher will be Austin Allen’s top targets . TCU’s secondary will need to create turnovers when they go to the air. I look for Nick Orr to have a big week and also for Texada to start looking more like he did 2 years ago.
Matchup to watch for- TCU FRONT 7 vs ARKANSAS OLINE — TCU’s front 7(Denzel Johnson will essentially be an LB this week) need to control the line of scrimmage and hit this physical Hog team in the mouth early and often. Montrel Wilson and Travin Howard are two smaller LB’s and will need to tackle well in this game for the Frogs to be successful. Excited to see Joe Broadnax and Aaron Curry this game against the largest offensive line they will see this season.
Overall, I think TCU is the more talented team and will win if they play well offensively. The defense will need to play well this week to be able to go out there and show the nation that we are indeed a top 10 team. I think Coach P gets things fixed this week and TCU wins the game 45-21.
