The State Journal-Register: Zahna Medley signs with Romanian pro basketball team

It’s been a whirlwind week for Zahna Medley. The 2012 Springfield High School graduate signed a contract Wednesday to play professional basketball in Romania. She traveled to Illinois from Fort Worth, Texas, Thursday. She left St. Louis Friday afternoon for Romania via Chicago and Turkey. She was scheduled to arrive at 11 p.m. Romanian time Saturday.
Medley was reveling in the hustle and bustle as she boarded a flight for the first leg of her journey. The 21-year-old point guard is thrilled about playing for Club Sporting Universitatea in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. It plays in the country’s top division.It’s been a whirlwind week for Zahna Medley. “They got second in their league last year,†she said. “Hopefully, we can get first this year. I’m excited.â€
