DMN: Gary Patterson names Kenny Hill starting QB for TCU opener: ‘He’s done a great job of redoing himself’

FORT WORTH — When Kenny Hill showed up for TCU’s preseason practice, he looked a lot different than he did when coach Gary Patterson first recruited him out of Southlake Carroll.
This version of Hill, the already-been- a-starting-quarterback Kenny, appeared bigger and faster than when he graduated from 2013 and went to Texas A&M. This version of Hill was looking to be a starting quarterback for a big-time college program again.
“He’s done a great job of redoing himself,” Patterson said after Thursday’s practice.
Now, Kenny Hill 2.0 is only a handful of days from leading TCU’s offense in the first game of the season. Patterson named the junior the starting quarterback Thursday.
