Today’s Pigskin: Colts cut former Patriots wideout Josh Boyce
Josh Boyce came into Colts camp with a hope of latching on as Indianapolis’ No. 4 wide receiver. He’s now venturing onto the waiver wire.
The Colts cut Boyce on Tuesday on a day flush with wide receiver transactions for the franchise. Indianapolis also cut Andre Dubose in order to sign Andrew Opoku, the latter being a cousin of Falcons wideout Mohamed Sanu.
While Indy continues to search for options behind T.Y. Hilton, Donte Moncrief and 2015 first-rounder Phillip Dorsett, Boyce will attempt to continue to find a taker for a skill set that set records at one of this decade’s better college football programs. Boyce broke TCU’s all-time touchdown reception record by snaring 22 in just three seasons, during which he recorded 2,535 receiving yards, doing so en route to becoming a fourth-round Patriots draft choice in 2013.
