EAST RUTHERFORD — The Giants‘ defense produced three sacks in Friday’s preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins.
A tremendous amount of attention was paid to the two Owa Odighizuwa registered, and understandably so. The young defensive end is one of the more important players on the Giants’ roster, for several reasons.
But there has been little discussion of the third sack, or the player who made it. In case you are still wondering, the sack belonged to defensive end Stansly Maponga – one of the more intriguing players in camp battling for a roster spot.
“It felt good being out there. I’ve still got a lot of work to do, but it felt great getting that sack, and getting the year started like that,” Maponga told NJ Advance Media. “I thought I did some pretty good things out there.”
