Max Olson ESPN Staff Writer

The last time we saw defensive end James McFarland play, he was the Defensive MVP of TCU’s 2014 Chik-fil-A Peach Bowl win over Ole Miss. He led the Horned Frogs with seven sacks that season and was poised for a big senior campaign in 2015.

Then he went down with a season-ending injury before last season even started. Now, he’s back on the field and plans to be better than ever this season. McFarland sat down with ESPN.com to discuss his toe injury, his year on the sideline and his comeback.
