The Sun Chronicle: PawSox liking what Witte brings to table

PAWTUCKETÂ – The impact that a 26-year-old, 24th-round draft pick such as Jantzen Witte has made upon the Pawtucket Red Sox this season goes way beyond his five-game hitting streak or his team-best 28 doubles and having just five errors in 78 games at third base.
In just his first season of Triple-A, Witte’s value is way more than the $20 he splurged for a portable ping-pong table online that has become the staple for team camaraderie before each and every game, on the road and at McCoy Stadium.
“I’m a believer in hand-eye co-ordination and it’s a good warm-up before the game,” said Witte, who was introduced to the game and clubhouse mayhem that table tennis generates while he was at Texas Christian University.
