GoFrogs: Women’s Basketball Adds Two to Staff

FORT WORTH – The TCU women’s basketball program and head coach Raegan Pebley announced the addition of two graduate assistants on Wednesday. The Horned Frogs have added Hannah Lowe and Amenemopé McKinney to their staff ahead of the 2016-17 season.

“Hannah and Amenemopé will be great ambassadors for TCU women’s basketball as well as our institution,” Pebley said. “They have come to us with excellent experience and have received great mentorship already. I’m excited for their impact on our program, as well as our opportunity to serve them in growing in this profession.”

Lowe comes to Fort Worth with over 10 years of coaching experience at the club level in her native Australia where she was most recently coaching for Basketball Victoria at various age levels while also serving as general manager of Hawthorn Titans Basketball Club.

Lowe began working with Hawthorn Titans as a way to help build grass roots basketball, but eventually took over operations of the club in 2007. The club is now the biggest at its level in Australia with over 900 members and more than 100 teams.

With Basketball Victoria over nearly five years, Lowe has coached teams at levels ranging from U14 boys to U20 women, winning six elite tournaments along the way.

Lowe’s coaching career has also included stints as a youth league women’s head coach and junior team coach at Hawthorn Magic Basketball Club, state championship women’s assistant coach at Hume City Basketball Club and as a junior team coach at Nunawading Spectres.

Lowe earned her certificate of education from Wesley College in 1998, her Bachelor’s degree in sports coaching and administration from Deakin University in 2003 and a Graduate Diploma of Teaching & Learning from Charles Darwin University in 2013.

McKinney comes to Fort Worth after a four-year business career that followed a four-year playing career at Rice. She has worked as a management consultant for the last four years, specializing in human capital strategy and finance/risk strategy. McKinney also founded Ambytion Sports Enterprises and authored the book “Just A Game”.

She has also served for the last year as co-club director for Texas United Basketball and served as head coach for the club’s 15U EYBL team. Prior to that, McKinney served as assistant coach for United Elite Basketball for two years.

Prior to her time in the business world and at the club basketball level, McKinney was a four-year letter winning point guard at Rice. The Arlington, Texas, native played in 108 games for the Owls.

An excellent student-athlete, McKinney received Conference USA Honor Roll honors and was an Arthur Ashe Sports-Scholar Award Third Team member.

McKinney earned her Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Rice in 2012.
