WFAA: TCU’s Kenny Hill says he’s better prepared for second chance

FORT WORTH — TCU quarterback Kenny Hill has found out relatively quickly there’s truth in that old adage, “Beware of what you wish for –  you just might get it.”

He went from being state champion at Southlake Carroll to instant — but not long-lasting — success, taking over for Johnny Manziel at Texas A&M.

“It’s something you always dream of, and always want,” Hill said. “But I wasn’t really ready for it.”

His inability to handle success resulted in a famous flame-out that included a public intoxication arrest.

After leaving College Station, one of Hill’s high school coaches reached out to TCU’s Gary Patterson. And it resulted in Hill’s second chance.
