Today’s U: Quarterback play will make or break TCU’s playoff chances

In 2015, the TCU Horned Frogs dealt with more than a handful of injuries, especially on the defensive side. Those Frogs finished 11-2, against all odds.
This year’s team faces an even more daunting challenge.
If TCU can dodge the injury bug in 2016, the Frogs’ will be at least an eight-win team. Eight wins is a good floor for a program to have, but it won’t be good enough in head coach Gary Patterson’s eyes. The team expects to contend for a Big 12 title–TCU was voted No. 2 in the Big 12 this preseason–and even for a national championship.
