Tulsa World: Because of Gary Patterson, look out for TCU

DALLAS — Three reasons why it wouldn’t surprise me to see TCU emerge as the 2016 Big 12 champion:
The coaching of Gary Patterson, who now has 10 seasons of at least 10 victories. While acknowledging and agreeing with all of the reasons why Oklahoma is the preseason Big 12 favorite, I would remind Sooner fans that TCU still has the most underrated coach in college football.
An experienced defense. Patterson has had some great defenses during his 15-year run as the TCU head man, and the 2016 version has a chance to be one of the elite units in the nation.
A favorable schedule. Both Oklahoma and Oklahoma State face TCU in Fort Worth this year.
