Bryan-College Station Eagle: Former A&M quarterback Hill battling for TCU starting job

DALLAS — When Kenny Hill jumped into the spotlight in the first game of his sophomore season, it was with a roar.
In 2014, Kenny “Trill†was born with a 52-28 win over South Carolina in which Hill broke the Texas A&M single-game passing yards record with a 511-yard performance.
Two seasons later, Hill is on the verge of another breakout, this time with TCU.
The fanfare is much more subdued and that’s exactly what TCU head coach Gary Patterson wants from his quarterback.
“He’s been unbelievable with us,†Patterson said. “He’s been a great student in the classroom. He’s been real quiet and he’s been a leader off the field.â€
