Midland Reporter-Telegram: Football safety an emphasis for Tomlinson at clinic

Safety has become a major issue for parents whose kids play tackle football.

And former NFL and TCU great LaDainian Tomlinson understands their concern.

Tomlinson, one of the NFL’s all-time most durable running backs, returned to the Tall City Friday to host his Prepatory Academy Elite Football Clinic for sixth to 12th graders for the second straight summer at Midland Christian’s Mustang Field.

Despite being listed at 5-foot-10 and rushing the ball 3,174 times in his NFL career, Tomlinson remarkably avoided serious injury, playing at least 14 games in each of his 11 seasons.

Tomlinson now shares his wisdom of football safety with youths.
