DMN: Bowlsby wants a Big 12 expansion decision; now it’s up to the board of directors during media days

The Big 12 gained an unexpected storyline for its football media days July 18-19 in Dallas.
The ongoing expansion discussion will be an unofficial companion to everything else going on. The Big 12’s board of directors will meet somewhere in the D-FW area on July 19 to review the latest round of data and decide on pursuing expansion.
Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby told the Des Moines Register this week that he expects continued discussion of the topic. A decision is possible but unlikely. “I have indicated that I think it’s about time we made some decisions one way or the other; whether that’ll be on the 19th is yet to be determined,” Bowlsby said.
