OMAHA, NEB. – Just like his roommate, TCU swimmer Ford Story wanted to go to Omaha.
Mitchell Traver got to go three consecutive years with the Horned Frogs baseball team.
Story joined him this weekend, having qualified in the 100-meter breaststroke for the U.S. Olympic Swim Trials starting Sunday at the Centurylink Center in Omaha, next door to TD Ameritrade Park, where the baseball team was in the semifinals of the College World Series.
“We joked about being in Omaha at the same time when we were freshmen,†Story said Friday, where he joined other TCU fans to watch Traver’s start against Coastal Carolina. “The longer we went into our athletic careers, the more we realized that it would definitely be a possibility. Last night, we were at dinner laughing about how crazy the chance of this happening really is.â€
