Lubbock Avalanche-Journal: TCU powers past Texas Tech 5-3

OMAHA — After Robert Dugger was magnificent in Texas Tech’s 13 inning thriller over East Carolina a week ago, all he could do was turn and look as Luken Baker hammered a home run over the seats in left field.

The Red Raiders were up 3-2 before that swing. After, they trailed by two.

And that’s how it ended as Texas Tech fell to TCU 5-3 in the College World Series Sunday afternoon inside TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha.

“Congratulations to TCU,” Tech coach Tim Tadlock said. “Ball has bounced our way quite a bit lately. We’ve been fortunate. Today the ball didn’t bounce our way. Baker made a good swing on probably a pitch that wasn’t executed. But that’s baseball.”
