The start to his RS-junior season was delayed with an injury, but since his return, he has made five starts and owns a 1-1 record with a 2.45 ERA.

Just 19 picks later, the Houston Astros made Brian Howard their 17th round pick. He has made 19 starts as part of 41 career appearances. Howard is 12-2, including an 8-2 record in 2016, with a 3.48 ERA. This season, Howard leads the team with 15 starts. He has 78 strikeouts in 86 innings pitched.

Elliott Barzilli, a junior from Los Angeles, was taken in the 29th round by the Houston Astros. Barzilli has had a career-year for the Horned Frogs as an everyday player. One of just four Frogs to start all 61 games this season, Barzilli is hitting .362 with 16 doubles, four triples and seven home runs to go along with 47 RBIs.

Rounding out TCU’s draft selections was senior Preston Guillory. He went in the 31st round to the Miami Marlins. A two-year stalwart out of the bullpen, Guillory has appeared in 46 games and boasts a 5-2 record to go along with a 2.92 ERA. This season, he has posted career-highs in appearances (26), innings pitched (38 1/3) and strikeouts (32).
