Bryan-College Station Eagle: Pair of TCU freshmen put Texas A&M’s Omaha plans in doubt

What’s that old saying?

Be careful what you wish for?

The top-ranked Texas A&M baseball team thought it had TCU right where it wanted, but instead the Horned Frogs played like they were on a mission, dominating the nation’s fourth-seeded Aggies 8-2 on Friday night.

A&M will have to live a little longer with last year’s season-ending 5-4, 16-inning loss in the Super Regionals at TCU that sent the Horned Frogs to the College World Series. And if the Aggies don’t find their bats and arms fast, coming up short of Omaha will feel three times as tough.

A&M still has TCU where it wants it, at Blue Bell park where the Aggies are 32-6 this season, even after Friday’s loss. A&M hasn’t lost back-to-back games at home this season, and that includes bounce-back victories over LSU and Vanderbilt. If the Aggies can get to Game 3, they’d have momentum.
