The Battalion: Déjà vu: A&M and TCU get Super Regionals started Friday

A year ago, Texas A&M and TCU played in a Super Regional instant classic, in every sense of the word.

The two in-state and former conference foes played two of three games in extra innings. With a crucial game three which resulted in a 16-inning showdown. Ending with A&M watching their dreams of Omaha bounce beyond the glove of Michael Barash, in a play that can only be described as one of those “its baseball” kind of moments.

367 days later, the two baseball heavyweights are ready to throw haymakers once again with a ticket to the College World Series on the line. Both the Aggies and Horned Frogs enter the weekend having swept their respective regionals. The first of a potential three round bout is set to begin Friday at 8 p.m.

As far as last year being a motivational factor, senior J.B. Moss says the Aggies have used it at times during the year, but it’s not something clouding the mind entering Friday. …
