FWST: TCU tabs redshirt freshman Janczak for Game 1 vs A&M

COLLEGE STATION – TCU will start redshirt freshman Jared Janczak in Game 1 of the Super Regional at Texas A&M.
Not that coach Jim Schlossnagle would have guessed at the start of the year.
“No way,†he said with a laugh Thursday at a press conference at Blue Bell Park. “Not this time last year, relative to where he was at that point in his career, and relative to the guys we had coming back and the guys we thought we had coming in. Every ounce of credit should go to him and Kirk Saarloos. Mainly to Jared.â€
Janczak (6-3, 2.41) started Game 2 of the Fort Worth Regional against Gonzaga for TCU last week, going 5.2 innings. He had allowed only three hits before a home run and a single chased him.
