Today’s U: TCU picks up two class of 2017 commitments

TCU football coach Gary Patterson received a package deal Wednesday when a couple of 2017 recruits— Trestan Ebner and Lakendrick Van Zandt— offered up their pledge to play for the Horned Frogs.
Ebner— a 3-star wide receiver— and Van Zandt— a safety— both attend Henderson High School in Henderson, Texas.
Ebner, who was once committed to SMU, made the announcement on Twitter.
“I want to thank all of the coaches and recruiting staff that have been a part of this process and have given me the opportunity to be a part of their team,†Ebner said on the social media site. “After discussing this with my teammates and sister…I along with my brother Lakendrick have officially decided to commit to TCU!! I can’t explain how grateful I am, and I thank no one more than God himself for this opportunity! TCU we are coming and we will make you proud.†…
