Chicago Sun-Times: Bears release offensive lineman Tayo Fabuluje

With organized team activities going on at Halas Hall, the Bears waived second-year offensive lineman Tayo Fabuluje on Wednesday.
It was the first time general manager Ryan Pace cut one of his own draft selections.

Fabuluje’s ability to deal with adversity also appealed to the Bears. Fabuluje, who was born in Nigeria, missed three years of college football because of separate stints at Brigham Young and TCU and his family situation.

While at TCU, Fabuluje’s mother was incarcerated for theft. When he was five years old, his father was deported for his involvement in truck theft ring. Fabuluje sat out the 2013 season in college to work and provide for his siblings.

Fabuluje’s main issue with the Bears was that he struggled to stay on the field for various reasons. …
