Cleveland Plain Dealer: Browns still looking for a kicker after Oberkrom retires

BEREA, Ohio – The Browns want incumbent kicker Travis Coons to compete for his job.

The club, however, is having early trouble locating the right candidate.

The Browns announced Friday that kicker Jaden Oberkrom retired just two days after the franchise claimed him off waivers from the Jaguars. The TCU product was placed on the reserve/retired list and the club signed undrafted rookie wide receiver Dennis Parks.

The Browns added Oberkrom on Wednesday after releasing Brad Craddock, an undrafted free agent from Maryland who’s being mentored by Matt Stover. They also tried out three kickers last week during rookie minicamp but haven’t signed any of them. …
