DMN: Ranking the players on TCU’s roster, Nos. 20-16: Is Foster Sawyer the man to replace Trevone Boykin at QB?

The countdown continues.
Picking out 25 players on this TCU roster to rank is quite the task. We’re giving it our best shot this week as we move on to Nos. 20-16 below.  20. Ty Slanina / junior / wide receiver / A veteran presence with 14 career starts entering last season, Slanina was limited to four games by a collarbone injury and finished with 11 catches for 134 yards. He’ll be one of the more experienced members of a deep receiving corps in 2016, having caught 32 passes for 383 yards in 12 starts (13 appearances). Slanina did not participate in spring drills so the team is still waiting to see what he can offer after the injury.

19. Austin Schlottman / sophomore / center /He won’t go down as a “returning starter,” but he might as well, considering he started the final four games of the season (one at guard; three at center). Schlottman, who saw action in all 13 games as a freshman, earned praise from coach Gary Patterson for his performance against Oklahoma in Norman, Okla., late in the season and played well in place of the injured Joey Hunt. He will be dearly needed with so many starters needed to be replaced on the offensive line. …
