FWST: TCU baseball’s veteran bullpen arms encourage Schlossnagle

TCU needed 17 innings from the bullpen last week at Penn State, but it included outings from Brian Trieglaff and Preston Guillory that encouraged coach Jim Schlossnagle as the Horned Frogs prepare to face Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday.

“Preston Guillory, for the first time all year, or the first time in a long time, he really looked like himself,” Schlossnagle said. “Got a ton of ground balls. The ball was really sinking. That was a big, big deal.”

Guillory appeared in two games, recording two outs in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday and pitching 2  2/3 scoreless innings Sunday. He gave up two hits and walked three in 3  1/3 scoreless innings combined. …
