GoFrogs: Barjon Ties For 2nd; TCU Places 8th
TRINITY, Texas — TCU’s Paul Barjon tallied a one-over par 73 Sunday in the final round of the Big 12 Conference Golf Championships and finished in a tie for second place at Whispering Pines Golf Club.
Barjon, who had a two-stroke lead entering the day, got into the clubhouse early at 5-under par, but the number didn’t stand up. He opened the round with a birdie to get it to 7-under. He played at even-par through the front nine, before going +1 on the back.
He tied with Texas’ Beau Hossler for second place, and was one of three players in the field to record two rounds in the 60s by shooting 69-73-68-73 to finish at 283 for the Horned Frogs.
As the team, the Horned Frogs shot 10-over on the final day and finished in eighth place overall. The University of Texas captured the title by shooting 14-under par for the tournament.
Behind Barjon, Pierre Mazier (74-78-77-70) finished tied for 25th after recording a 77 on the final day. Ryan Books (75-80-74-74) andChelso Barrett (84-77-69-74) tied for 33rd and 38th, respectively, while Giulio Castagnara (85-78-76-78) finished 49th.
