GoFrogs: W. Golf in 4th Place at Big 12 Championship
SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The No. 27 TCU women’s golf team is in fourth place after Friday’s opening round of the Big 12 Championship.
The Horned Frogs’ 6-over-par 294 has them just seven strokes behind leader and No. 17 Iowa State’s 1-under 287.
Brooke Graebe, one of four freshmen in the TCU lineup, is tied for eighth individually after an even-par 72. The Yorba Linda, Calif., native began her day with a birdie and totaled a team-best three on the day. She’s three strokes off the lead, held by Kansas State’s Madison Talley who carded a 69.
Sabina Pena and Kelly McGovern both had a pair of birdies in recording a 73 and 74, respectively, for TCU. Pena is tied for 13th, while McGovern is part of a group in a deadlock for 19th.
Brooke McDougald shot par on 15 holes in posting a 75 for TCU.
